HIGH ACTIVITIES
Face your fears. IT'S EMPOWERING!! All activities are fully supervised by competent qualified instructors. Rigorous measures ensure every participant’s complete safety.
Abseiling is the art of 'descending a rope' and is a fun and very rewarding activity offered. Participants find an enormous amount of personal satisfaction in overcoming their fear of stepping backwards off a tall object. We have a 5m and 15m tower.
Flying Foxes are found everywhere. There is something exhilarating about jumping out into thin air, suspended on only a thin cable and whizzing to your destination. The difference with our Flying Foxes is that two people may go at the same time. The Flying Fox is a great activity that helps develop confidence at heights and is still quite challenging for many participants. The ability for pairs to go together helps develop peer support, or healthy competition, depending on the setting and allows two people to directly share the experience. The Flying Foxes are both about 10m high, 150m long and will reach speeds of about 60km/h.
Flying Fox High Rope Challenge Indoor Rock Climb Our High Ropes Challenge Courses are any obstacle course suspended more than 2m off the ground. They are made out of wood, cables, ropes, steel, natural trees and artificial poles. Multiple elements on each course are graded differently and can even be completed in different ways. This makes them extremely popular because they are so versatile at challenging participants. All participants are required to wear harnesses, helmets and a self belay device. Indoor Rock Climbing is quickly becoming more popular as a recreational sport in the commercial market. Not only is it a great all-weather activity, but it is a great introduction and training ground for natural face climbing. Our Indoor Rock Climbing gyms are no different. Indoor Rock Climbing tests your coordination, agility and endurance and you can sometimes get a surprise to discover who your best climbers really are. Trust and teamwork also come into play as climbers are belayed by their peers. The Indoor Rock Climbing gyms have a wide variety of climbs to suit anyone from the novice to the experienced climber. You are certain to find something to challenge all of your participants, regardless of age or experience. All participants are required to wear harnesses and helmets. Our Giant Swings have been a great draw card over the years and participants have always commented on this activity as one of their favourites. After being harnessed in by one of our instructors the rest of the group will pull you to the top of the swing (or as high as you want to go) and before you grab your rip cord. You have to see it to really understand. The Giant Swing is a great activity to build confidence at heights and is the perfect example of our Challenge by Choice philosophy. All participants are required to wear harnesses and helmets
Giant Swing Leap……...of…………………... .....FAITH…. Vertical Challenge Some people find our Leap of Faith the most challenging activity at camp. In the end it is as easy as falling off a log. Participants climb to the top of a tall telegraph pole, stand upon the very top and then jump out into the air, attempting to catch a trapeze bar that is swinging out in front of them. The Leap of Faith can be very challenging but participants can choose how difficult they want it to be. We have four different Leaps (7m, 8m, 10m, 11m) and the trapeze bar can be moved closer or further from the pole. This activity helps students develop confidence at height, as well as trust and teamwork as two teams of peers belay each jumper. All participants are required to wear a full body harness and a helmet. Vertical Challenge, or Vertical Team Challenge, incorporates many of the skills that participants have gained in other activities. The climbing matrix is made up of ropes, cables, wood, steel, cargo nets, and a variety of other materials. It is designed to run as a vertical obstacle course and is the highest activity on site. Each element is designed for one or two simultaneous climbers and participants can choose whether they want to race each other, or complete the element cooperatively. Across the top of this structure is another activity called Hug-A-Buoy which is similar to several elements on our High Ropes Course, but much higher. Vertical Team Challenge ties together skills in climbing, confidence at heights, teamwork, trust and peer support. 13 participants can climb simultaneously, plus another on Hug-A-Buoy. The entire structure raises to a height of 17m. se LOW ACTIVITIES solving along the way. Survivor Challenge-Participants are given the task of navigating a water course using only a couple of planks and even fewer pieces of rope. Participants need to be able to communicate and cooperate - or they get wet. Challenge Valley is one of the most famous, and certainly the most popular activities. Challenge Valley is a commando assault course made up of several individual elements. Each element is designed to test participants stamina and endurance in a fun, competitive and challenging manner. Though the course is wet and muddy, the experience that participants gain from such an activity is well worth the fun.
Survivor Challenge Archery Low Ropes Our Low Ropes Course is made up of 18 different obstacles, or elements. These are all progressively graded in difficulty so participants are able to choose a series of elements that best challenges them. Almost all of these elements can be found somewhere on our High Ropes Courses, so it is a great introduction to the elements without the fear of height. Participants are protected at all times by peers who accompany them around the course. The Team Matrix, or Low Ropes, is a great activity to promote peer support, communication, teamwork, balance and coordination. All participants are required to wear a helmet at all times. Archery At this activity participants can all pretend to be Robin Hood. Participants also realise that splitting an arrow with another is almost impossible. Along with learning how to safely fire this weapon, we learn some of the history of the bow & how it all works, at a recreational level and an Olympic level. Participants also get the opportunity to compete against each other.
